To participate in the competition, participants must meet the following criteria: a) Foreign nationals. b) Able to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia at a minimum proficiency equivalent to BIPA 1, level A1, or beginner level. c) At least 18 years of age as of 1 August 2026 and legally permitted to travel abroad independently. d) Have an active email address. e) Have never previously been awarded as the first, second, and third place winners and/or have never received a Category A Award in any previous FHI. f) Commit to being present in Indonesia to participate in the final round if selected as a finalist.

No. The first, second, and third place winners and/or Category A award winners from earlier FHI events are not eligible to participate in FHI 2026.

The FHI 2026 competition categories are storytelling, singing, pantun, speech, and poetry reading.

Yes, registration for FHI 2026 is free of charge.

No, it is not possible. Submitted data and videos cannot be changed. Therefore, please ensure you enter the data and paste the video link correctly when completing the registration form. The committee does not accept manual registrations.

Yes, they can. FHI 2026 is open to foreign nationals who can speak Indonesian, whether they acquired the language through formal education or self-study.

If you have not received the confirmation after this period, please contact the contact person via email at fhi.badanbahasa@gmail.com and provide your full name, the email address used for registration, the competition category, and the registration platform (via the website bipa.kemendikdasmen.go.id/fhi or Google Form).

No, it is not possible. One email address can only be used for one registrant.

The function of the email address in the FHI registration is to serve as the medium for receiving confirmation of your successful registration and for obtaining official notifications as well as participation certificates as an FHI participant.
