The competitions in FHI 2026 are governed by the following general and specific terms.

- General Terms
The general provisions of the competitions include the participant criteria and the competition implementation criteria.- Participant Criteria
To participate in the competition, participants must meet the following criteria:- Foreign nationals.
- Able to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia at a minimum proficiency equivalent to BIPA 1, level A1, or beginner level.
- At least 18 years of age as of 1 August 2026 and legally permitted to travel abroad independently.
- Have an active email address.
- Have never previously been awarded as the first, second, and third place winners and/or have never received a Category A Award in any previous FHI.
- Commit to being present in Indonesia to participate in the final round if selected as a finalist.

- Competition Implementation Criteria
The FHI 2026 competitions criteria are as follows:- The competitions will be conducted through preliminary and final rounds.
- The competitions are intended for individual participants (not groups).
- A participant may only participate in one competition.
- Participants take part in the competition by submitting a video documenting their proficiency and creativity in using Bahasa Indonesia. In general, the video and the participant’s performance in the video must meet the following criteria:
- At the beginning of the video, the participant shall orally provide brief information including their full name, country of origin, the type of competition entered, and their motivation for participating in FHI 2026.
- The participant must be clearly visible, and the video must be in landscape format with a minimum resolution of 720p.
- The participant’s voice must be clearly audible.
- The participant must not lip-sync.
- The participant must dress formally.
- The video submitted to FHI 2026 competition must never have been published and/or submitted to any other competitions and/or to previous FHI competitions.
- The content of the video must not infringe any intellectual property rights.
- The content of the video must not contain the potential of causing conflicts between countries, religions, races, and social groups.
- The content of the video must not be generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
- The participant shall bear full responsibility for any video content that does not comply with these provisions.
- Any costs incurred by the participant in producing the work for the competition shall not be borne by the committee.
- The copyright of the submitted videos in FHI 2026 competition is fully owned by the Agency for Language Development and Cultivation.
